About the artist:
Àlvar Suñol Munoz-Ramos, commonly known as Alvar, is a Spanish artist born on January 29, 1935, in Montgat, a Catalan fishing village near Barcelona. He began painting at the age of twelve and studied at the prestigious Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Jorge in Barcelona. Alvar's career took off at 18 when he won the Young Painter’s Prize from the city of Barcelona, leading to his work being acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona. His art, which includes oil paintings, lithographs, watercolors, bronze sculptures, and ceramic bas-reliefs, is characterized by its rich symbolism and themes of peace, family, love, and humanity. Over his six-decade career, Alvar has exhibited extensively across Europe, the United States, Canada, and Japan, and his works are held in numerous prestigious collections worldwide
