Verja - Angeles Cereceda
Ángeles Cereceda’s elegant, impressionistic style creates a dreamy and idyllic atmosphere in her paintings. This oil on canvas piece called “Verja”, depicts a flowery and lush landscape that measures 24" x 29". A path, seemingly blanketed in lavender, runs from the bottom left to a wicker gate at the center of the composition. The path invites the viewer past a clump of brush and yucca in the bottom right, into a sunny meadow of pale cream and pink grasses. The path turns right, and recedes into the center background, into a shady forest of tall green, and gold trees. A patch of lavender wildflowers appear in the shade of the trees near the upper right. Patches of pale blue sky peak through the tree branches in the far, upper background. Signed in blue paint "Angeles Cereceda", bottom right.
