Spirit Worlds #7 - Heiko Weiner
By Heiko Weiner
36" x 36" | Exotic hardwood and veneers (Picana, padauk, zebra wood, mahogany, and turquoise inlays)
Spirit Worlds No. 7 is part of a series of wall sculptures, and is one Heiko Weiner’s larger pieces at 36 x 36 x 1inches. It has a distinctive Southwestern style. He used various exotic and domestic hardwoods veneers, like zebrawood, picana, padauk, mahogany, for the design. He carefully organized the various turquoise inlays, and individual woods by their grain orientation to achieve the desired view for the 26 inch. center design. The center pattern is distinctively southwestern, with the zebrawood creating a feather-like appearance. The frame is constructed of multiple layers of wood, maintaining a careful composition of grain orientation, and accented with turquoise.
